Pioneer's benefit programs are an important part of our associates' total rewards package. We offer a comprehensive and flexible benefits program designed to support the diverse needs of associates and to give them and their families valuable resources to assist them in maintaining good health and well-being, in planning for retirement and balancing work and other life commitments.
Pioneer associates may choose from several different group medical insurance plans, through Blue Cross Blue Shield, which include prescription drug coverage for themselves and their families. Pioneer currently shares the cost of medical insurance coverage. In New England, there are two choices for medical coverage: an HMO and a POS plan. Outside of New England, we offer two PPO plans.
Pioneer currently offers two dental plans and shares in the cost of dental insurance coverage. Both plans provide coverage for preventive care and basic and major restorative care; one plan also includes orthodontia coverage.
Pioneer automatically provides associates with basic life insurance, basic accidental death and dismemberment insurance and business travel accident insurance for their beneficiaries in the event of their death. Associates also have the option of purchasing additional levels of insurance coverage for themselves, for their spouse or for their children.
Long Term and Short Term Disability
At no cost to them, associates are automatically enrolled in Pioneer's Long-Term Disability plan, which provides benefits when an associate has been fully disabled through a non-work-related illness or injury. During certain periods of non-work-related illness or injury, Pioneer provides short-term disability pay.
